An $80 Million Pompano Beach Facelift

All within a five-minute walk of Beach Vacation Rentals’ properties, the City of Pompano Beach invested nearly $80 million in new beachfront infrastructure since 2015, creating one of the most stunning beaches in South Florida. The investment includes a new oceanfront park promenade with lots of family-friendly amenities, a state-of-the-art Pompano Beach fishing pier that has replaced the original one, and an iconic parking garage structure with a visitor center staffed seven days a week. This stunning facelift has lured many more quality private investments to the heart of the beach area.

Pompano Beach PierNew, Distinctive Cuisines

Privately developed Pompano Beach Fishing Village, which spans from the fishing pier to the Intracoastal Waterway, is well underway. Two spectacular oceanfront restaurants have already opened with great success: Oceanic, with distinctive ocean liner-inspired architecture, and Beach House Pompano, voted to have the best rooftop oceanfront bar in South Florida. Both are designed to be landmark restaurants. Four more restaurants are due to open in early 2020. They include the Lucky Fish outdoor Tiki-style pavilion, a Burger-Fi, Kilwin’s, and Canoli Kitchen. Alvin’s Island upscale beach retail store is also due to open in 2020.

More Fun In and On the Water

New amenities in Pompano Beach include Shipwreck Park Pompano, a vast artificial reef system of 17 sunken ships and artworks just one mile offshore. Pompano Water Taxi now has 11 stops along the Intracoastal Waterway, connecting with Fort Lauderdale Water Taxi all the way south to Margaritaville in Hollywood.

Gateway to the Central Beach

Pompano Beach Pier

Boaters will love seeing the new permanent public artwork that covers the entire span of the Atlantic Blvd Bridge that goes over the Intracoastal Waterway as a gateway to the beach. Fine art underwater scenes of local marine life are breathtaking, along with the four high-tension sails erected at both ends of the bridge with colored lights projected on the sails at night.

Another new addition under construction is a dining and entertainment complex by the bridge and along the Intracoastal Waterway, not far from the Pompano Beach Fishing Village project. This is also a five-to-10-minute walk from all five of our Beach Vacation Rentals properties. Two waterfront restaurants are being erected with space for 10 yachts to pull up. The larger, featuring American fare, includes 150 indoor seats and 350 outdoor seats, designed to accommodate all weather conditions. Developers say they are “sparing no expense” on this project. A smaller restaurant and some retail space will complete the complex.
