Photo of a Row of Bike Rentals in Pompano Beach.Sunny Pompano Beach has become one of Florida’s most bicycle-friendly destinations, with its well-marked bike lanes, scenic park trails, and many rental outlets. This clean, quiet, family-friendly beach town sees less congestion on roads and sidewalks, as well as in the sand. And there’s no better place to relax after a day spent pedaling through Pompano than inside one of Beach Vacation Rentals’ charming, tropical cottages or condos. Each vacation rental property is just one to two blocks to the vast Atlantic Ocean and Pompano’s three miles of award-winning Blue Wave Beaches. There’s nothing quite like wheeling underneath swaying palm trees, with the smell of the salty sea filling the air and the cool ocean breeze sweeping through your hair.

Affordable Pompano Beach Bike Rentals

Broward BCycle’s nine-bike docking station is the most convenient option in town. It’s located on the beach at the corner of Atlantic Boulevard and Briny Avenue near the Fishing Village. Broward BCycle is a smashing success in Fort Lauderdale but only has one docking station in Pompano Beach. Thus, remember to arrive early to nab a rental, ranging from $5 to $25 for a full day.

Several local businesses offer affordable, state-of-the-art bicycle rentals, many of which are within close proximity of the Pompano Beach Fishing Village, the Air Park, and Hillsboro Lighthouse. Bike Science on Ocean Boulevard is a short trek from the lighthouse, North Ocean Park, and Hillsboro Mile. If you plan to explore nearby Deerfield Beach, Fun Rentals boasts a fleet of bicycles that start at just $20 per every four hours. Just two miles south of Pompano Beach is Pedrito’s bike rentals in the charming town of Lauderdale-by-the-Sea. B&J Bicycles is one of the region’s best new and used purchasing options, but they no longer rent bikes to the public.

Pedal through Pompano Beach

The 3,000-mile East Coast Greenway, which spans from sleepy Calais, Maine, all the way to the Florida Keys, rolls through Pompano Beach. The Greenway follows Route A1A, a well-marked Intracoastal roadway that’s seemingly always within eyeshot of the beach. Also in the area, both Hollywood Boulevard along Hollywood Beach, and Ocean Boulevard in Deerfield Beach, have side paths for pedestrians and cyclists only.

The multi-purpose Pompano Community Park boasts a family-friendly bike path along the golf course, historic airpark, and horseback riding stables. The 4.4-mile Air Park loop is a popular trek, especially when the Goodyear Blimp is in flight. Another excellent bike trail is nearby in Deerfield Beach’s Quiet Waters Park.
