For many, one of the highlights of any vacation is great food. In Pompano Beach, our food scene goes much deeper than fabulous restaurants, which we have in great numbers. From cooking classes to wine tastings to food festivals, Pompano Beach has it all, making it a vacation favorite among foodies.

The team at Beach Vacation Rentals would like to give you a sneak peek of what you can expect from Pompano Beach’s growing food scene surrounding our properties. Here’s a look at why more and more foodies are taking vacations to Pompano Beach.

1. Great Restaurants in Pompano Beach

Pompano Beach is home to a diverse collection of fantastic local restaurants. There are at least 30 restaurants within an 5-15 minute walk from our Beach Vacation Rentals properties. Right by the ocean, seafood restaurants are abundant, allowing travelers to sample delicious, fresh fish dishes. We recommend Oceanic, a beautiful oceanfront restaurant located at Pompano Beach Pier. For another treat, Pompano Beach is home one of North America’s top award-winning restaurants. Darrel & Oliver’s Café Maxx has been a South Florida favorite since 1984 – pricey – but a worthy experience! Of course, Pompano Beach has restaurants to satisfy every taste and budget.

2. Food Tours

If you want to sample some of Pompano Beach’s finest restaurants in one go, your best bet is with a walking food tour. South Florida’s Best Food Tours, top-rated on TripAdvisor, offers tours that are the perfect introduction to Pompano Beach cuisine. Spend three hours strolling to several beachfront and Intracoastal Waterway restaurants to sample favorite dishes, meet the chefs and enjoy VIP treatment at the area’s best restaurants. You won’t leave your tour hungry!

3. Cooking Classes

If you want to learn how to harness the flavors of Pompano Beach in your own cooking, take a group or private cooking class at Lenore Nolan-Ryan Cooking School, a short drive from Beach Vacation Rentals properties. Lenore has been a top caterer in South Florida for more than 20 years. She can also provision your vacation rental in advance of your arrival. For a list of upcoming cooking classes, call direct at 954-605-7415.  The classes are informative, fun, and delicious.

4. Pompano Beach Food Festivals

Pompano Beach hosts a wide range of events throughout the year, but some of the most popular are food festivals. Pompano Beach Seafood Festival is one of the highlights, a three-day celebration in April with live music, shopping opportunities, and of course, mouthwatering seafood. And in nearby Fort Lauderdale, just a 15 minute drive South, the granddaddy of food fests takes place in January. The Visit Lauderdale Food & Wine Festival boasts an epic, week-long culinary festival for everyone under the sun.
